Raced the Supercross race in Frejus, France where girls were allowed to join the guys for the second time. The track was completed just before practice and the bottom of the start hill had two bumps instead of one easy transition. Marc won the men which was so awesome and I finished 4th.

Went to Japan for the first UCI round of 2007/2008 before going to the Beijing Olympic Track for the Supercross race - first time that girls have ever been able to race the event. The track is awesome.

Went to Canada for the first time to race the 2007 World Championships. New Zealand came home with two new World Champions. Hannah Sarten and myself.

Had the 4th UCI round at Nerang where Marc finished 5th, Serena finished 6th, Lisa finished 8th and I finished 4th. Axel got 5th in the semi of Junior Men, Vic fell off in the 2nd moto and hurt her knee but finished 6th overall. The others didn't make the finals but we trained hard during our time in Newcastle before heading down to Melbourne for the next UCI race.

Came over earlier then Matt and Marc to soak up some sunshine and get riding Lake Macquarie track again but it was raining when I turned up! Just training for 6 weeks before heading home for Christmas.

Brazil hosted the World BMX Champs on a purpose built permanent track in Sao Paulo this year. The New Zealand HP team arrived a week and a bit before the race to race the Pre-Worlds and to adjust to the time difference etc. I came away with World#3 on 20" and World#2 on Cruiser (by 1/100th of a second)! I was also the only Elite rider (in the World) to get two podium finishes.

The 10th and final UCI Round for the year before Worlds. Didn't race this event because my shoulder wasn't going to hold up from the last weekend! Been a bit in the wars this season... It poured with rain and the track was a swimming pool. It was cold and wet (and cold) but Wade Bootes swam the best and took out the Elite Men and Marc Willers had mechanical problems down the first straight giving him 8th place in the final.

A bit more training and the Pan Pacs at Lake Macquarie BMX track. I won the Pacific Oceanias and picked up a w31 plate (lol) but more importantly, a UCI Pan Pacs race jersey. The Freak Challenge was on Sunday and it was race for race with me and Melissa Mancowski with Melissa taking the title and me taking a trip to hospital for x-rays and physio for a few weeks as a result of a dislocated shoulder. Missed out on the novelty check too - but I will get one one day!

Flew over to Perth on Thursday for the 9th UCI Round and the DK Nats. It was my first race back since I broke my foot and I wasn't quite up to scratch but had a good time and got 3rd. Was back jumping again which was cool.

The Aussie Nats were held in Adelaide this year and for the first time, there was a team of kiwi's there attempting to take the title. The track was pretty full on and there were SO many crashes which was pretty entertaining for the spectators if the result of the crash wasn't too bad. This meeting also took a big name out of the running for a while (Luke Madill) but everyone in Australia has been sending their love ever since and is hoping for a full recovery so he can get back on the bike. It also took Renee Junga out for a while with a shoulder and knee injury but she is back on the bike now. Besides that, Kamakazi became the new Australian Champion for the Elite Men and Krystal Cranfield took out the Women. I sat and watched the whole weekend as my foot was still broken. It was pretty fun but I would've loved to ride my bike!

Over to Canberra for the ACT Champs and a UCI Round. It was a fast track which has held the ACT Champs a few times in its life. The racing was close and with only one gate of Junior Women, there was only 3 motos (points over). It ended up coming down to the last race as a dead man as three of us had equal points going into the third race. After that we went down to Tasmania with the New Zealand Commonwealth Games Cycling Team.
From 30 December 2005 - 10 January, 2006 (click here)
First lot of racing for a while as I didn't ride a bike for a month while I was at Outward Bound and over Christmas time. Did alright considering my preparation but didn't get any guts up to jump till the second weekend of racing. The two UCI Rounds ran over the first and second weekends of 2006.
This was THE once in a life-time experience that I will never ever forget. Twenty one days in a remote part of the Malbourgh Sounds at the top of the South Island.
Morning "personal training" started at 6.20am with an aerobics session followed by a 3.2km run and a swim in the freezing waters of the South (even in the summer).
Had so much fun - including a huge mud fight as well as some Tramping, Rock-climbing, Sailing, Rowing, Kayaking, Canoeing, High Ropes and 2 whole nights and days alone in the middle of nowhere. This was the most exciting but scary thing we had to do. Had a few possums come visit in the middle of the night which gave me a huge fright but I used my insect spray as possum repellent haha
Anyway, its real cool to see what I got up to over the 21 days and how much they packed into the course. Check it out! (click here)
PS: The only photo's I have are from a disposable so I can't put any on.
