Year Started Racing: I started BMX in February 1999 and raced my first ever nationals in April 1999 (and won - haha). Since then I haven't stopped and the only reason I started is because I reluctantly had a go when watching my brother race one day.
What was your first bike?
An Elf which I shared with my brother.
Do you ever wonder what you'd be doing if you weren't racing BMX?
Not really. Maybe playing Volleyball or maybe even skiing coz its fast and you still get to do jumps.
If you could change anything about BMX what would it be?
The way some parents talk to their little kids who race. If the kid is trying their best and having fun then thats the greatest thing to ask for. It's not always about winning.
What are your plans for the future?
Race BMX in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and travel the World doing the thing I love. After 2008, I am hoping to go to America with Dane to race as much as we can. Then start all over again for the 2012 Olympics in London.
I'm not famous... I just ride my bike, have fun and enjoy life. What made you start your own website?
An injury put me out of training for a while so I had nothing else to do.
What are your favourite websites?
sarahwalker96.com, BMXUltra, Gavind.com, XBR.com.au, kencools.com
What sort of music do you listen to?
Something to either sing, dance or relax to - so pretty much anything!
Do you have a boyfriend?
Yeah. He's from Australia and does BMX too. I get to hang out with him when I'm not training and sometimes when I am. He supports me 100% like a good boyfriend should and wants me to be the best BMXer in the World. He understands that the trips I go on are to make me a better BMXer and I am so lucky to have someone like him. He balances my BMX commitments with other aspects of life.
Any thanks?
I would like to thank mum and dad, my boyfriend, my brother, my sponsors, Ken Cools and everyone who was helped me through-out my BMXing life - the likes of Ian Mackie, Phil Anderson, Ryan Hollows, RMC, the whole Rotorua and Lake Macquarie BMX Club, the Westwood family, the Booker family and if I missed your name then please feel free to write your name here ______.
Peace out!
